Certificate of Insurance

This is the document summarising the benefits and stipulations under the plan or contract.

This term is used mainly in car insurance terms as you have to produce a certificate of insurance in order to tax a vehicle or on demand if the police request one.

That said you do still get a certificate of insurance for any other type of insurance but this is also known as a policy schedule or policy document.
